Yamaha MT 15 has been launched in the month of January, earlier this year. It has been updated to the BS-6 compliant engine to meet the new norms. This includes the MT-15 which is now Rs 1,000 more expensive than before.
Yamaha MT 15 price starts at INR 1,39,900 with the more premium looking Ice Fluo Vermilion color scheme now costing INR 1,40,900.
Yamaha MT-15 Specification
The MT 15 features the 155 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled 4-valve motor that outputs the power of 18.6 PS at 10000 rpm and torque of 14.1 Nm at 8500 rpm. Engine outputs compared to the BS-4 version are lower, that is, 0.7 PS and 0.6 Nm to be precise. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission gearbox. If we talk about the brakes, then it is equipped with disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS.
As reported by the MT 15 owners in India, the real mileage of Yamaha MT-15 is 53.2 kmpl. It can reach from 0 to 100 kmph in 11.86 seconds.
Yamaha MT 15 Design
The futuristic and aggressive front end is accentuated by the twin slot daytime running lights (DRLs), between which sits the LED headlight, giving the MT 15 an almost robotic, Transformers-like face. It’s a love-it, hate-it sort of design, but something which will definitely grab your, and anyone else’s attention. The sculpted fuel tank, extended radiator shrouds, and a plastic belly pan complete the muscular look. The rear end is proportionate and sleek, with a nice LED taillight finishing up the tail section neatly.

The instrument panel has been borrowed from the new YZF-R15 v3.0 and gets a negative LCD display. The unit comes with a digital speedometer, a bar-style tachometer above, and a fuel gauge along with an ABS warning lamp. There’s also the odometer, Trip 1, Trip 2, and clock, as well as the gear shift light indicator and VVA indicator. Underpinned by the Deltabox frame, the MT-15 is suspended by telescopic forks up front with 130 mm travel and a mono-shock unit at the rear with 97 mm travel.
It includes a digital speedometer, digital tachometer, and digital tripmeter. It is available in black, blue, and red color options. The white and red option, which was introduced with the BS6 update, costs INR 1,000 more than the other two colors.

So, the final verdict is that if you want to purchase value for high money motorcycle then, Yamaha MT 15 is not for it. There are many areas in which it stays behind the Yamaha R15 v3, and it is not a very good idea to invest One Lakh in this motorcycle.
