The Audi RS Q8 finally launched in India this Thursday. The price of the car is INR 2.07 crores. It is the most powerful petrol-powered SUV of the German automaker. This is the second RS-car Audi has launched in the last two months, following the RS 7 Sportback.
The new Audi RS Q8 is dubbed as “THE FASTEST SUV AT THE NÜRBURGRING”. The Nürburgring is the motorsports complex located in the town of Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It features a Grand Prix race track built in 1984, around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. It has been nicknamed as the old track “The Green Hell”.
Audi RS Q8 – Specifications
The Audi RS Q8 is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with a 48-volt Mild-hybrid system (MHEV) that outputs a whopping 600 PS of power and 800 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission and the power is channeled via the company’s Quattro AWD system with self-locking differential. If we talk about the brakes, it features the Ceramic brakes. The latest Audi SUV featuring a 10-piston brake caliper in this braking system features 17.3-inch front brake discs and 14.6-inch rear brake discs made from a ceramic-composite material that reduces unsprung weight by up to 75 pounds and offer improved fade resistance.
The proof of the most powerful is from 0 to 100 km/h time of just 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h. It also features a 48V mild-hybrid system for improved efficiency. The RS Q8 also features cylinder-deactivation tech for this purpose.
Audi RS Q8 – Features
On the exterior, the Audi RS Q8 gets the gloss black honeycomb grille, larger air inlets in the bumpers with body-colored inserts, a new roof spoiler, and diffuser, RS-specific oval tailpipes and RS Matrix LED headlamps and LED rear combination lamps. Optionally, a black styling package with a blacked-out logo and a panoramic sunroof is available. The single-frame grille, RS-specific spoiler, 22-inch wheels as well as an integrated rear diffuser.
At the interior, the dual-screen MMI infotainment system with haptic feedback, ambient lighting, perforated RS Sport leather steering wheel, a powered tailgate, and sport seats with RS embossing. For an added price, RS leather seats with seat ventilation and massage functions and a Bang and Olufsen audio system can be optioned.
The new Audi SUV is available in the nine color options, that are Deep Black, Dragon Orange Metallic, Floret Silver Metallic, Galaxy Blue Metallic, Glacier White Metallic, Matador Red Metallic, Navarra Blue Metallic, Orca Black Metallic, and Daytona Grey Pearl.
