Today, BMW launched its series 3 car, that is, the BMW series 3 Gran Turismo Shadow Edition in India. The price of the car is INR 42.5 lakhs. This luxury car will be locally assembled at the company’s Chennai plant and offered at all company dealerships across the country. The new BMW 3 Series GT Shadow car is available in the M Sport design scheme.
The new ‘Shadow Edition’ sets itself apart in terms of luxury, sophistication and sportiness. It is a limited edition. Only a select number of this edition will be sold in India. Vikram Pawah the President of the BMW Group India said, “The BMW 3 Series GT Shadow is a unique vehicle concept in the segment and has become a trailblazer with its distinctive and modern character. The new ‘Shadow Edition’ is an amalgamation of luxurious elegance and sportiness in even more sophisticated form. It combines the best of both worlds – an embodiment of pure dynamism and a sense of spaciousness.”

It is available only in petrol variant The new BMW 3 series GT features a 1998 cc, 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-charged petrol engine that outputs 252 PS of power at 5,200 rpm and 350 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed steptronic automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. The gran tourer goes from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.1 seconds and electronically limited to a top speed of 250 kmph.
If we talk about the brakes, then at both, front and rear wheels, there are disc brakes present with regenerative braking.. The fuel average, claimed by the company is 13.95 kmpl. The GT Shadow Edition is available in four color options, Alpine White, Melbourne Red Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, and Estoril Blue Metallic.

At the exterior, the new BMW 3 Series GT features a sporty and elegant design with striking lines, muscular surfaces and design elements made of black high-gloss unit. The kidney grille gets nine slats in high-gloss black at the front with dark shadow elements extend to the LED headlights and taillights. The 18-inch star-spoke alloy wheels in jet black along with exhaust tailpipe in black chrome further enhance its distinctive looks.
On the interior, the aluminium door sill plates, key with M logo, an M sports leather steering wheel, ambient lighting and panoramic glass roof. Other notable features include wireless charging, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear view camera, and electronically adjustable driver and passenger seats with memory function.
On the safety front, BMW offers six airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Side-impact Protection, Runflat tyres with reinforced sidewalls, emergency spare wheel, electronic vehicle immobiliser, a fully automated and chargeable key and a crash sensor.
